Helena Baur is a master's student in the final phase of her degree in theatre studies at the Ruhr University Bochum, where she also works as a research assistant to Dorota Sajewska. She has completed interdisciplinary bachelor's degrees in linguistics and phonetics, as well as media cultural studies at the University of Cologne. Helena continued her academic journey with master's studies in theatre studies and gender studies at the Ruhr University Bochum.

Her research interests span a wide range of areas, including textuality in the performative arts, critical and creative practices in the anthropo(s)cene, posthumanist ethics, and queer feminism and its political implications. Currently, she is developing a performance-theoretical perspective on simulations in the context of medical training as part of her master's thesis.

In addition to her academic work, she has engaged in both scholarly and artistic practices. She has worked at the Theatre Collection Cologne and the Institute for Linguistics in Cologne. Helena also contributed to the transforming anthropo(s)cene conference, where she designed the website and logo, while also being an active member of the organizing team, supporting the event's thematic focus on the intersection of ecological, cultural, and philosophical issues in the context of the Anthropocene.

On the artistic side, she has pursued a career as an actress, dancer and creative writer, bridging theory and practice in her multifaceted approach to performance and art. Various engagements as an actress at the Opera of Bonn have significantly shaped her artistic practice, enriching her approach to the interplay between different artistic disciplines. Furthermore, she currently works as a trainer for simulated patients at the University of Münster and freelances on additional website projects in the fields of cultural public relations and social engagement.

At the Institute for Performance and Film Expanded, Helena plays a crucial role in shaping the institute's digital presence. She designed both the website and the logo, contributing to the institute's presentation and outreach. Her work blends theoretical inquiry with practical engagement, creating bridges between academic research, performative practices and contemporary social debates.
